Our robust tagging system connects your writing with the readers most likely to enjoy it. In addition, unless contracted with us, our authors are not bound by exclusivity, you retain the rights to your work and are free to distribute it widely.
Accountability
Releasing your work in serial format helps with accountability. Knowing fans are eagerly waiting for the next chapter is a great motivator to continue writing.
50% Royalties
You'll earn 50% of all Litcoin revenue spent on your work, which is among the top rates for serialised fiction. Monetisation will be available to you from the start (though we request you keep the first three chapters free to read.)
Editorial & Marketing Support
In exchange for exclusivity, select writers will be offered extra support including editing, artwork and marketing.
How It Works
- Prospective writers can fill out our submission form. They will need the first three chapters ready before applying.
- We will review the work to make sure it follows our submission criteria (i.e. it is an original work of fiction and isn't AI generated.)
- If approved, the author's series will be created and their first three chapters added to the platform. The author will be able to edit or remove their chapters at their leisure, and will be able to add all future chapters and any future series, on their own.
- Authors are able to designate their chapters as free or pay-to-read. Readers pay via Litcoins. The amount needed to read a chapter is left to the author's discretion. We only ask that the first three chapters, at minimum, be left free to read.
- If the author would like us to provide editing, artwork, marketing and other services, they can contact us to become a Pro tier. Pro tier authors receive support and extra monetisation options in exchange for granting us exclusivity. However, due to limited resources we are not able to accept all submissions to this tier.
Author Tiers
Debut
New writers begin at the debut tier. Anyone can apply to become a debut author. Debut authors will have access to Litcoin monetisation, and will receive extra front-page space to give each series the best opportunity for success.
Rising
Writers who have gained a following are moved up to the Rising tier. Rising authors have access to monetisation via Litcoins, which they can cash out in their home currency. They will occasionally receive free advertising.
Pro
Writers who are contracted with us are in the Pro tier. Pro tier authors, in exchange for exclusivity, receive marketing and advertising, artwork, editing services along with additional monetisation and publishing opportunities.
Yes, you keep the rights to your story. By submitting your stories to LitFic you are granting us a licence to publish and share your work. Debut and Rising writers may revoke this license at any time. Pro authors may need to give some notice (such as 30 days) depending on their contract. But in all cases, the author owns the rights to their own work.
There is no minimum. You can withdraw your earned Litcoin for cash at anytime.
We do allow spicy and dark fiction. But we require that any adult content be appropriately tagged, and that the story not be illegal in nature.
Due to providing monetisation for our authors, we cannot allow direct fanfiction based on copyrighted works. Original fiction INSPIRED by popular works is welcome, but stories featuring recognisable characters, settings, or plotlines from existing franchises are not allowed. Ask yourself: Would my story still make sense if readers had no knowledge of the work that inspired it? If not, it likely isn’t original enough. We reserve the right to remove content that infringes on copyright.

We have long wished for a serialised fiction platform for English speakers. Having explored the options available and finding them lacking, we decided to make our own. 🤷
